As you can imagine we get a lot of email enquiries. Can I eat fruit if I’m on a weight loss plan? Is it possible that bananas make me fat? Is it ok to eat bananas whilst I’m trying to lose weight? You get the gist of it right… So it has inspired me to right this post.

Eat your good fats. How often do you hear that? The fear of fat is certainly changing, but how often does someone say I can’t eat that as it contains too much fat! I think the fat free consumer is still very much here but things are slowly changing.

The purpose of this post is to help with the confusion around fat. What is good fat and which fats are just plain ugly. I’ve found over time I generally have certain fats in my daily diet and there are a whole host that I do my best to avoid. I don’t worry about the calories, I only worry about the type of fats. Guilt free and gluten free, with the only thing needed is 15 minutes of your time and the ingredients to put this together. This loaf makes for the perfect snack or dessert giving you a small slice of heaven.

Prep’ time: 5min

Bake time: 20-25min

The best high protein chocolate smoothie ever?

I just whipped up a quick protein smoothie for Guy and myself and it tasted so good that I had to share it with you. You’d swear it was a McDonald’s thickshake if it wasn’t loaded with so many nutrients and good fat). We generally have the 11am protein smoothie which tides us over until lunch. (Guy’s Welsh whinging starts if not fed regularly!) - Enjoy, Stu

Prep Time: 2 minutes

Makes 2 high protein smoothies

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 heaped scoops of 180 Natural Protein Superfood (chocolate)
  • 250ml water
  • 4 ice cubes
  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • Handful of berries (I used frozen raspberries)
  • 1/2 banana (again this was frozen)

Preparation:
Just throw it all in the blender and hit the button for 30 seconds. Boy, did this one taste good… Continue reading
